I completely missed World Breastfeeding Week! Regardless of my lateness, I’ve compiled some fun and functional nursing tops for you breastfeeding mamas during this hot weather. In LA, it’s still in the 80s and 90s; I remember nursing Baby Spawn in 90-F heat… Oh boy.
At two years, we are still nursing, about once a day. Here are some of my favorite tops as well as some I’ve just discovered!
Fun and Functional Nursing Tops
Glamourmom Nursing Long Tank – This is my favorite nursing tank top. I still wear it. It’s very durable and it has a bra clasp for better boob support. (There are other styles that cost a little less but this also is a little longer which helps with covering up the tummy.) Spawn was born in the summer, and in LA, it’s hot until about November or December, so I lived in nursing tanks for a very long time.
Bearsland Ruffle Nursing Tank – This is pretty awesome and less than $20! The ruffles hide your post-pregnancy belly and an opening for nursing!
Hosting for the Weekend Tunic (Modcloth) – I love flowy tops with buttons in the front. This blouse from Modcloth comes in a bunch of colors, so you can take your pick! I think it’d go well with shorts or jeans, belted or loose.
Pam Breeze-ly Tunic (ModCloth) – Again, blousy, flowy, buttons! This one comes in ton of colors too, and I think it is versatile to go from office to weekend. This green is pretty bold!
Undercover Mama Nursing Top Cover Layer – Now this is pretty smart. If you want more coverage and don’t want to be too exposed, you can put this on top of your tank top or under your blouses (see above tops).
Easygoing Ending Dress (ModCloth) – This is not a top, per se. But it is so cute and easy to wear. Plus it looks super easy to pull down to nurse baby. When we went to a wedding last year, I had to have my husband hang around while I nursed Baby Spawn because my dress zipped from the back! My entire chest was exposed… unlike this dress.
Airport Greeting Cardigan (ModCloth) – This zip cardigan is so popular on Modcloth, it has over 49,000 “loves!” It’s so hot right now, but you know it’s always a smart idea to bring a cardigan or sweater wherever there is air conditioning.
What are your favorite nursing tops? Do you have a recommendation for new moms out there?
