I moved to NM a year ago, I didn’t know anybody there and was expecting my second baby. I started looking for groups of moms with babies on Facebook and I found the Land of Enchantment babywearing group. I am very happy I found them, they are a wonderful group of moms that are very welcoming and supporting of each other and are always hosting meetings and get togethers so all moms in the community are aware of the benefits of babywearing.
I was introduced to babywearing through a parent that I used to babysit for. She showed me how to properly wear her littles and I knew that when I had kids I would wear mine too!
There wasn’t one exact person who introduced me to babywearing. I heard about wearing your baby and got a Moby wrap before my first baby was born. My local BWI chapter helped me learn to us the Moby and opened up the world of SSCs and woven wraps to me!

Long ago I found a Moby and thought it was the bees knees of wraps… today I’m amazed and overwhelmed at all the variety of wraps out there. I currently own just my moby and a Baby Bjorn (my husband’s favorite). Thank you for the opportunity!

When I was pregnant I had several women tell me to get a wrap. The one that was recommended just did not work for us. About a month later I thought “there has got to be a better option.” So I started searching online and watching tutorials. After a couple more tries, we found something that worked.

I love this pretty Wisteria Lane wrap. With my first daughter I wore her for a while back in 2009. I didn’t know there were any Babywearing group locally that can help me adjust the carrier. Until I had my second daughter and wanted to babywear again. Somehow I saw a page on Facebook and found my local Babywearing group. I’m so glad I found the group and they helped me learn so much how to adjust in different carriers. It’s the best because you can find the one you love wearing your baby. Every new baby wearer should attend a local baby wearing group to try different carriers.

I saw many discussions about wearing for new parents, and saw a few local to me wearing buckles. But after having my babe, I did further research and found my local groups! And it has been amazing ever since.
